September a perfect time to kayak the San Juan Islands

September is a spectacular time of the year to kayak the San Juan Islands.  Summer crowds are gone and we once again can enjoy the spectacular beauty and wildlife of the area.  Kayaking in September affords us the opportunity to view  an abundant variety of migratory birds.   September brings us Hooded and Red Breasted Mergansers, Harlequin Ducks, Marbled Murrelets, Surf Scoters, Red Phalaropes and Common Loons are seen in the bays and coves we explore.  Southern Resident Killer Whales and Transient Orca Whales, Harbor Porpoises, Stellar Sea Lions and Harbor Seals all  are at home in the Salish Sea.
