Cole Wilson

Cole Kayak Guide San Juan IslandHead Kayak Guide/Naturalist

Cole (25 yrs.) grew up on the eastern coast of the United States in the small town of Valdosta, Georgia. His love for the outdoors began at a very early age but grew exponentially after returning from a cross-country road trip with a few buddies in high school. He graduated from Georgia College in Milledgeville, Georgia with a B.S. in Outdoor Education and is entering his third season with SJKE. In college, Cole worked as a lead facilitator at the Challenge Course on campus and went on multiple multi-day backpacking trips both as a student as a teaching assistant.

His passion is experiential education and he truly enjoys facilitating connections between people and the natural environment, especially via sea kayak in the San Juan Islands! Cole currently holds an ACA Level III Instructor certification and is also a Wilderness First Responder. Cole’s hobbies include ultimate frisbee, swimming, cycling, disk golf, exploring the world with his dog Molly and he is currently training for his first triathlon in Savannah, Georgia. He currently has a Level III ACA Instructor Certification and is seeking his Level IV in 2018. Cole is First Aid and CPR certified and holds a Wilderness First Aid certification.

Cole’s sweet nature and enthusiasm for the islands make him just plain fun to paddle with!
