The West side?  Beaches packed with kayak tour companies?  Power boats?  The long drive to and from?   Fuhgeduhbout it!  We’ve we got a more remote day paddle for those of you who want to explore further than a half-day trip allows!

Departing at 8:30 AM daily from the Friday Harbor ferry dock, we spend a full day exploring the secret coves and beaches and paddling the protected waters of Griffin Bay and American Camp National Park.  Hidden lagoons, deep forest and plenty of wildlife highlight this one day adventure! The bay and its’ picturesque beaches abound with stellar sea lions, harbor seals, bald eagles, Dall’s and Harbor porpoise, river otters and migratory birds such as scoters, loons, harlequin ducks and mergansers.  Listen for the chatter of belted kingfishers, and the prehistoric honk of the great blue heron.  Once in the park, we will go ashore for a scrumptious beach lunch, then a  three mile hike through deep rain forest and open prairie to Cattle Point Lighthouse!  Keep an eye out for orca whales, stellar sea lions, porpoise,  fox, eagles and hawks.  Along the way the views of Mt. Baker, Cattle Pass, the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Mountains make for photo opportunities you won’t want to miss!  Your experienced, fun and friendly guide will make your trip safe, educational and memorable!  These trips fill up fast so reserve early!  Reservations recommended!

NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY!

Note:  We use only quality, state-of-the-art, fiberglass sea kayaks and gear.  No plastic boats are used on our tours!

Duration – 6 hours.  Trips meet/ depart from the Friday Harbor ferry terminal  daily at 8:30 AM;  return at 3:30 PM

What We Supply – all boating equipment including ThermaRest seat cushions, complimentary dry bags, delicious and nutritious lunches, services of an friendly, experienced guide, transportation to launch site and return

What You Bring – rain coat;  wet shoes if you’ve got them ie. sandals w/ heal strap, ie. Tevas, Chacos, etc. or wet suit booties, aqua socks or old tennis shoes, one liter of water per person, layered clothing(Capilene, polypropylene, fleece, etc.), shade hat, sunscreen, lip salve, snacks to share with the group, camera, binoculars

Cost – $85 per person plus 7.8% sales tax.  Full payment is due upon receipt of your registration form.

Cancellations – more than seven days before departure a full refund minus a $25 cancellation fee.  Less than seven days before departure full payment is retained.
